You might remember reading a post earlier this year when I shone the spotlight on one of our customers, Ann Bown, in Campbell River, BC. She had been doing a whole lot of sewing for Rose Harbour House.
WELL…..the 2 new owners of THE QUILTED BEAR in Ladner, BC (Dawn & Carol) and their customers had a special sewing event where they made a bunch of bags for the blog bag challenge. I am happy to say that all these bags have now been filled with the donated toiletries & toothbrushes etc and are on their way to Rose Harbour House in Campbell River for distribution before Christmas. Thank you so much to the staff & customers at The Quilted Bear who made such lovely bags. Here are some pics to inspire you:
About half of these bags were made by staff & customers at THE QUILTED BEAR in LADNER, BC. The rest were rustled up by me during a bumper bag sewing frenzy during the summer! As I can make a bag in about 15 -20 minutes (not counting the embellishment) it does go pretty quickly!
Isn’t this a lovely bag design? It has a zipper about 2/3 of the way up one side & a little ribbon handle to carry it. Thank you to the ladies at THE QUILTED BEAR for these bags. And what fun fabrics!
Bags embellished using the CIRCULAR ATTACHMENT.
More bags by Liz: regular style zipper bags and humbug bags. All these humbug bags were embellished with rows of machine decorative stitching in a variety of decorative threads before being trimmed & sewed up into the distinctive HUMBUG candy shape.
