YES……IT IS THAT TIME AGAIN! The Saskatchewan Stitches Conference kicks off again this week on May 30th and runs through to June 9th. It is held at St Peter’s Abbey in Muenster, SK. If you have not ever been to this Conference before, you are in for a TREAT!! There are all sorts of classes and activities from sewing & quilting to knitting, needlework; bra making; rug hooking and more. We sleep there, we eat there & we sew till we can’t sew anymore! Wendy also has evening events where teachers share trunk shows or give informative talks about various sewing & quilting topics. There is also the chance to partake in massage therapy and/or pedicures for those who feel they need a little pampering!!
Wendy Toye is the owner of HAUS OF STITCHES in nearby Humboldt, SK which has been in business for almost 21 years. We celebrated the 20th anniversary last Fall and the STITCHES CONFERENCE had a big 10th anniversary celebration this time last year. I refer you to my post published on 12th April all about that happy occasion and the report in the magazine: A Needle Pulling Thread. (scroll through the archives down the right hand side of the home page of this blog to find that post or use the search box).
Each year we converge on St Peter’s Abbey and sew, meet up with like-minded friends, have fun, sew some more ….you get it! This year I will be teaching classes on sergers and Coverhem machines as well as being in attendance to answer queries and give demo’s on our wonderful ELNA sewing and quilting machines & sergers.
